Using gravity-driven conveyors, pallets are loaded on one side and off-loaded on the opposing side of this racking system. Well suited to a first-in-first-out inventory control system.

How it Works
- Rack is structured with pallet lanes on a slight decline creating a load side and a pick side
- Pallet lanes in addition to the standard static racking contain roll tracks with either wheels or full-width roller bars
- Pallets are loaded on the up-slope side and off-loaded on the down-side slope
- As new stock is added the first-in already on the rack rolls toward the off-load side of the rack
- Braking systems controls downward pallet speed toward the pick side
The Good
- Excellent choice for FIFO (First-In-First-Out) inventory systems
- Options for customization during the planning stages
- Well-suited to production plants where stock moves frequently or stock spoils quickly
- Ability to minimize reliance on fork lift trucks reducing maintenance costs and damage
- Saves space and accommodates more pallets per linear foot over standard static racking
- Ability to create deep applications eliminating wasteful aisles
- Perfect transition zone between main warehouse and loading dock / pick-up areas
Challenges to Overcome
- Not compatible with some product flows such as last-in-first-out
